🌍 Origin & Background
Peppermint is native to Europe and Asia, and commercially cultivated in India (Uttar Pradesh, Haryana), China, and Japan. Traditionally, it has been valued for its cooling, soothing, digestive, and respiratory benefits, both in Ayurveda and modern herbal medicine.
🌱 Plant Description & Raw Material
Mentha arvensis is a fast-growing aromatic herb, 30–120 cm tall, with bright green leaves and lilac-colored flowers. Oil is concentrated in the leaves and flowering tops, and yield and quality are influenced by soil, climate, harvesting time, and distillation technique.
